Southbourne Canoe Club -

We meet on every Thursday between the months of May to August. We meet at 6pm at Christchurch rowing club. This can be seen in the "Our location" page.

Please park in the public car park just to the East of the Rowing Club, as we are not given access to the Rowing Club car park.

New paddlers joining Southbourne Canoe Club who can provide previous evidence of completing at least a BCU One Star will be allowed to paddle freely with the club and will not be required to undertake an introductory session. If you are unable to provide such evidence then you will need to attend and complete a training Session.

From 2009, anyone wishing to complete training with the club, must first become a member.

Training sessions
There will be two 1 star training sessions and two 2 star training sessions in the coming season.Dates are as follows:

Training 1 - 1 Star -1 May to 22 May- Fully booked
Training 2 - 2 Star- 5 June to 26 Jun- Fully Booked
Training 3 - 1 Star- 3 July to 24 July- Fully booked
Training 4 - 2 Star- 7 Aug to 28 Aug - Cancelled

Each session will last 4 weeks, the session will include 3 weeks of training and 1 week of assessment in order to gain a BCU award at the end of it.

Pricing
1 Star sessions will cost £10 each

2 & 3 star session will cost £15 each

Places must be paid for before the start of the course, no money no place and once you have payed for the course, we will not be able to offer refunds if you are unable to attend the course.

Please note; all children must be over 8 years old

Novices/beginners must attend on the start date and complete a full session.

BCU Three Star assessment
This will be undertaken on a demand basis, and will last 4 weeks with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 people per course.
