The Committee Members
Please note that
committee members are unpaid volunteers who provide their
support to SCC because of their dedication to canoeing
and love for the sport.
- Chairman
Rich Hampson
- The chairman is responsible for the overall running
of the club. Richard has been paddling for 10 years
and owns more boats than he has garden space to
dump them. He likes lots of white water, quite a
lot of surf and a little sea kayaking. From time
to time he attempts to do some coaching.
- Secretary
Sue Johnson
- The secretary attends committee meetings, takes
minutes and helps organise events. Sue has been
kayaking since 2000 and is a trainee level 2 inland
coach. Her main interests are sea, flat water and
medium grade white water.
- Treasurer
Barrie
Viles - The treasurer operates the club account,
chases people for money and reports on the club
finances at the AGM. Barrie is relatively new to
paddling and enjoys paddling on rivers and the sea,
and has occasionally been encouraged onto white
water. Barrie (known as Baz to his close friends)
also enjoys the social side of the sport.
- Membership
Secretary
Russel
Miller - The Membership secretary is responsible
for the registration of new members and the administration
of current ones. Russel's main interests are Whitewater,
surfing and Playboating.

to dabble in Surf kayaking and Sea Paddling.
