Activities
The following provides
some idea of the types of activities that Southbourne
Canoe Club and its members get involved in, further details
can be found in our news letters.
Sea Kayaking
A wide range
of different levels and grades of sea kayaking are undertaken
during warmer summer and colder winter months.
Trips are based either on part day, daily or weekends,
some extended trips are also supported but organised
by other providers. Trips are either club organised
or done on a friends basis. We do have a core of Sea
Kayakers who paddle locally, nationally and internationally.
Sea Surfing
At present we
do not have any Surf specific coach at our club and
therefore are only able to surf on a friends basis and
not as an organised club activity. We have some
members with sufficient experience to cover surfing
straight into shore but not to teach any surfing moves
or tricks. We have a core of kayak surfers who paddle
locally at Highcliffe, Boscombe, Bournemouth & Kimmeridge
with occasional trips to the West Country.
Calm Water Kayaking
and Canoeing
A number of calm
water paddles are undertaken each year. These
have included :

of white water coaches at our club who are able to support
trips on rivers up to grade 3. Grade 4 and 5 white water

to allow non-paddling family members to join in club
